Marc Steinert

About me

Born 1985 in Düsseldorf (Germany, near Cologne), after finishing school and 1,5 years of military service, I'm currently studying computer sience at the prestigious RWTH Aachen University since October 2006.

I'm highly interested in new web technologies, especially in data mining and organizing dynamic content, because the advancing globalisation of the world leads to the needs of globally, highly available networking structures. Thus the importance of compiled programms, that will run a single PC will drop and be replaced by rich internet applications.

I'm currently employed at onOffice, a young and dynamic software company, selling a rich internet application to real-estate agents, called "smart". There, I'm part of the engineering team, as a PHP and C# developer, responsible for the Microsoft Office interface smart provides. Thus I'm fimiliar with designing web APIs based on XML, creating mashup software and designing Office plugins.

Computer related skills

  • Administration of Linux (SuSE, Open SuSE, Fedora Core, Ubuntu, Debian) & Windows Servers
  • Advanced programming in C/C++/C#, PHP, Perl and basic knowledge of Java
  • Experienced with XHTML, CSS and basic Javascript
  • Good inside knowledge of the .NET framework and deployment of .NET based software
